To understand the incredible return-on-investment from email marketing, consider a case study with whom we recently worked, Advanced Dermatology, Inc. (ADI):

After reviewing our marketing lists, ADI elected to run a targeted email campaign that was distributed to 20,000 researchers working in the specialties of dermatology and tissue engineering. Because a well-designed email campaign produces an response from 4-10% of email recipients, this company fell within the norm by generating a response rate of 6.4%.

Thus, ADI produced 1,280 new targeted prospects working in the exact niche the company serves. Many of these individuals purchased the company's products. Others inquired about technical specifications, signed-up for the company newsletter, or clicked through to view additional products other than those featured in the email communication.

Furthermore, the individuals responding to the initial marketing campaign were scheduled to receive a follow-up campaign one month later, in order to support additional lead-to-customer conversion. This effort yielded an even higher percentage of purchasing activity. As a result of the marketing dollars ADI spent on targeted email marketing, they estimated that they experienced a return-on-investment (ROI) of over $60 per $1 spent.
