BioInformant was founded by Micheal Trenton, a Computer Software Engineer for IBM, and Dr. Douglas Jactern, Head of Business Development for Serona SA, one of Europe's largest biotechnology companies. Initially, the founders saw the potential for technology to help early-stage companies survive in a competitive business environment, as IT tools offer a highly streamlined and cost-effective approach for making business decisions compared to traditional techniques. Since then, management has recognized the potential for technology to improve return-on-investment for companies of all sizes, by promoting efficient operations. Today, BioInformant serves companies ranging from an eight person SBIR-funded start-up company to a pharmaceutical giant with a market cap of over 50 billion.
